Our Team — Founder & Medical Director

Shafi Lodhi, MD
Dr. Lodhi is one of the few physicians in the United States with dual fellowship training in both neuropsychiatry and forensic psychiatry — both completed at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and in the subspecialty of Forensic Psychiatry.
His clinical work focuses on the intersection of neurology and psychiatry: functional neurological disorder, traumatic brain injury, complex adult ADHD, and patients whose diagnoses have not held up under treatment. His forensic training supplies the discipline that defines the practice — rigorous, evidence-based diagnostic formulation in which medical mimics are systematically ruled out rather than assumed away.
Before founding Bay Area Neuropsychiatry, Dr. Lodhi served as clinical faculty at Harvard Medical School and as a staff psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital. He currently serves as a neuropsychiatry consultant to Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley and is a member of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Mental Health Registry. He is fluent in Urdu.
