Our Team. Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist

Sarah Staley, MD
Dr. Staley is double board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry and in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, the subspecialty devoted to psychiatric care in patients with complex co-occurring medical illness.
A significant focus of her practice is perinatal and reproductive psychiatry. She provides expert medication management and risk-benefit counseling for women during pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the perimenopausal transition, decisions where both treating and not treating carry real risks, and where genuinely qualified guidance is scarce. Fewer than 500 psychiatrists nationally are trained in reproductive mental health.
Her consultation-liaison training means she is equally at home managing psychiatric medications alongside serious medical conditions, cancer treatment, autoimmune disease, organ transplant, in coordination with the rest of a patient's medical team.
